About Sudbury Court Running Club

History of the club   About this website

Many of the runners who meet at Sudbury Court, Wembley, on Tuesday nights have been associated with Serpentine Running Club, Hyde Park, London, for over 10 years. Over the years, the group has gradually taken on its own identity, mainly for geographical reasons, and now operates as an independent club, although some members still retain dual club membership.

The group meets at 7.15pm, every Tuesday and Thursday evening, at Wembley & Sudbury Lawn Tennis and Squash Club

The Tuesday run begins with a social run of about 3k, run at a speed to accommodate everyone. It then splits up to run various distances, ranging from 4-9 miles in total. Length of run is entirely of personal choice.

Most of the courses undertaken are on well-lit roads, but in summer, many people enjoy running over Horsenden Hill, Greenford, and along the canal towpath.

The evening's exertions are rounded off by a hot shower which is available on site, and a visit to the bar. As well as the welcome drink, satellite television is always available showing all the latest sports events.

The cost of this package, payable annually is

FULL membership
£40 (£5 for over 15s)

SOCIAL membership
£12
(an extra £1 per week is then payable for shower use)

PARKING
Some free car parking space is available on site (see photo), and there is ample street parking.

Sudbury Court Runners are a very sociable group of people of all ages and abilities, who enjoy running and socialising. New members are made very welcome.
